Hello everyone, I hope you are having a fantastic week so far. I was meant to send you my sewing tip last week but due to a couple of school events that I helped organizing, birthday parties and life I'm just finding time now to send you this tip. It's a great tip that you may need now or it will help you in the future. It was something I didn't really think about at first until my mum called and said she had issues with her sewing machine. The fabric didn't move through as normal and she had to forcefully push it through. I said to her that you don't have to push your fabric through the feed dogs help moving it through and asked her if she checked them. My mum didn't even know what I'm talking about. So over the video call (My mum lives in Germany and I'm in Australia) I explained to her what the feed dog should look like and how to fix the issue. I created a little video as I know visuals are often easier to understand than words. This is my latest BLOG POST that shows the YouTub video in it. Or click on the image below. Even if you don't have the issue now I hope it will help you to understand your machine better. Happy creating. |
I'm a Textile & Craft Explorer, with a love for turning ordinary materials and little ideas into creative adventures.I enjoy exploring beginner-friendly sewing, quilting, home décor and craft projects, but I'm equally curious about what happens when creativity meets everyday life — our mindset, habits, wellbeing, curiosity and the way we see ourselves.I'm fascinated by the connections between creativity and mental wellbeing, positive mindset, habit change, numerology and all the little threads that seem to weave life together.I don't have all the answers — I'm exploring too. 😊So if you're curious about one of these things (or all of them!), come along for the adventure. Let's experiment, learn, make, notice what we discover and see where the next little door leads.**As I Go, I'm exploring what becomes possible when we get back in touch with our inner creative self.** 🌿🧵
Hi 😊 I’ve been experimenting with a few different ways to make learning at home a little more fun — using movement, silly voices, games and even a pirate adventure! 🏴☠️ And along the way, I realised something about how I naturally use creativity in everyday life. I’ve shared the little adventure (and what I discovered) on my blog: What If Homework Could Be a Little More Fun? 🌱 [Read the story here] Come along and see what we discovered.
Hi Reader, I made something quite simple the other day — a little fabric envelope. It started because I needed an envelope for a birthday card and realised I had plenty of leftover fabric sitting around. I remembered a simple project I used to make with my beginner sewing classes, so I thought... why not make one? It turned out to be a lovely little reminder that sometimes the things we already have tucked away can become something useful and fun. I've written about the little experiment —...
Hi Reader, This week my daughter and I tried something new—we made our own stickers! It started with one of her ideas after watching a crafty YouTube video. Since we already had a Cricut and some sticker paper at home, we thought, why not give it a go? We ended up making fun stickers, practical labels for our storage boxes, discovered a few little mistakes along the way (including a spelling error I only noticed after printing 😄), and even found some cheaper sticker paper hidden away in the...
